    m14 castle nut lock screw

    what is the size of the hex wrench for the lock screw of the castle nut?

    Originals were metric.....so a 15mm should fit.

    Sometimes a 1/16 many times fits.

    thanks for the reply, this is for a norinco rifle with what I think is a US flash hider, took the screw out with the 1/16 wrench ,but not right size, to loose but cant find the right size to put it back correctly.

    Get a new set screw the one I had was so soft it wouldn't take a retorqueing.
    Can't remember the size, since removed it.

    My Norinco had a soft set screw as well. I have to baby it taking it in and out. Some day I will have to get a new one
