    shotgun chokes

    I have a cheap singleshot 12 ga. It would be much more versatile with removable or adjustable chokes. what are my options?

    buy a new or used 870 or mossberg500. cheaper in the long run, and more versatile yet.

    For the cost of getting your barrel reamed and threaded for chokes you could probably find a used 870 express or a Mossberg 500 with chokes. Barrels now days are designed for steel shot loads as are the removable choke tubes. An older gun will have a weaker barrel designed for lead only as are many of the older design choke tubes and can prove dangerous for using steel loads thru them.Robert
