    .44 Round Noses?

Been looking around for a round nose for .44 Special that will drop at least .431-.432...
And there's not much to choose from unless you drop a hundred.
If I'm gonna drop that much money then maybe will get a .44 caliber scaled up version of the old 150 grainer 358430. Maybe a little blunter than hemispherical. Something like the 386177 but with a plain base.

Anybody know of a medium weight .44 round nose that casts that big?

If you could live with an almost round nose mould.....round - flat then NOE has the following:

    432-216-RF
    432-267-RF
434-234-RF.....take a look at this one , it might be just the ticket.
If the mould is marked .434 then it will cast .434 or Al will make it right...usually they come out the box casting to the correct diameter.

I've used a Lee 240 gr. RN that easily dropped .431 when I used something approximating Lyman #2 alloy, say not less than 14 BHN by my Cabin Tree tester.

My Lee 429-240-2R drops at .432 and 256 gr. with my alloy (4-2-94). Shoots well in 44 Mag and Spl.

    My LYMAN #429478 drops 212gr RN's at .431dia, my ancient #429251 drops 245grainers at .430dia, all cast from a 50/50 mix of COWW/#2 alloy.

    LYMAN & N.O.E , .431 & .433 RNFP's, 240grs.

LYMAN #429478 resembles the bullet shape you are looking for. Too bad they don't make it anymore.

I think there is someone in the Swapping and selling forum that has a RN mould in 44 for sale. Dont remember exactly where, but its a touch older.

I have an old Lee 172 gr RN mold that I love. No longer in production, but they do show up occasionally.

429-383 shoots very well--wish it came in 4 cavity.
