Round ball size for 2 pistols

Just bought a older Pedersoli Kentucky pistol and a H & A underhammer.

Pedersoli - is stamped 44 cal - and a ball gage measures .440+ (top of lands). I have some .433 balls and some thin patching (.007 or so). Might work, but need a little less rain...

Underhammer bore is measuring @ .350

Thinking of .429 and .340 diameter balls.

Should I go for a .424 diameter mold?

    Thanks

I would shoot the balls that you mentioned while trying out some different patch thicknesses before settling on a mold.

Why buy a mold that may not be ideal for the Pedersoli pistol?

For instance, the Pedersoli manual lists using a .445 ball with a .010 patch in their .45 Kentucky pistol.

I would most likely go with a .429 RB and pillow ticking patch.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

I think I am still back to ordering a .429 and .340 from track of the Wolf.

Just wanted some confirmation from a lot smarter people.

It just $10 or so for a hundred and shipping. But I need a few other items...
