First time Powder Coater .... Monday morning

    Hey Fellas

Ive been lurking for a while now, trying to educate myself on the Powder Coat craze. I just so happen to have a powder oven at the end of the isle at work.
I had a chat with my coworker about setting me up with a screen in the oven to coat a handful of bullets. His reply was "Lets do it ,where they at " while holding his hand out.
I will have a batch freshly cast by weekends end, for coating Monday morning. I blame the lot of you for forcing me to go to the next level !! I will update with my results as a first timer.
Thank You all for the wealth of information, that has given me the confidence to give PC a shot .

Welcome to cast boolits 257Rob I think you’ve landed in the right spot for advice and any answers if you come up with any problems, these guys’ll have the answer quick. There is a wealth of info here on this site, you can also read up on different things like powder coating in the sticky’s. That’s where I got a lot of info from, read read read, then get out and try try try. I use a small toaster that was tossed by the wife, not real accurate on temp but if watched carefully, produces some good results.

257Rob welcome to the PC obsession It's great getting away from that sticky lube.

We expect pictures, lots of pictures

I also like HiTek but only when I'm doing 35 pounds of boolits or more at a time.

So far I have come up with over 50 colors of PC'd boolits.

There are tons of threads on PCing, but if you can't find an answer, feel free to ask.

Don't know about baking PC'd boolits indoors unless you have some kind of ventilation

Well the initial test went perfect. I do have the option of having a powder booth and Nordson ES Gun for application. Shot 5 colors on a batch of Lyman 429215.

    Psycho Yellow
    Mil spec flat black
    Cadillac grey
    Anodize Strawberry
    Translucent Copper

Brought in a bigger tub to mess with today.
Haven’t got the pics figured out yet but I’m working on it.

Good job! Yeah I was slow to the coating process, just an old dog, but I doubt I ever go back to lubing. I wont sell my Star just yet but coated, either PC ot HT is just too easy to not do.

They look great. Good job! Is there 2 different blacks? One looks like flat black, and one looks glossy.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!
