    30-30 vs Whitetail doe

A nephew borrowed my Glenfield 30-30 to hunt deer with my brother within the Black Hills of western South Dakota. This large doe was felled with one shot at a distance of approx 100 yards. My Glenfield has downed a lot of game since I first bought this carbine in 1979.

    30-30 is a keeper!

Nice; he must be a decent young man for you to loan him a cherished rifle; so good for you and his father for teaching him and taking him hunting ! He’s obviously earned your trust! Thanks to you and your brother for sending a fine young man into the world!

That's great...Glad to see the next generation in the woods. After you have a chat with him...you have to post "his" side of the story. We'll be waiting for it.

Way to go young man. The first rifle I bought for my self was a Win. 94 sesquicentennial at JC Penney. Real deer killer, bucks and does, good eating, good luck and many happy happy, days in the future.

Outstanding, how old is nephew? Looks 14 or 15. I only have one nephew, got a raft of nieces. I use
to loan out my guns to him at that age. Now he's going on 19 and he tells me if it gets "stolen" he
will pay me for it. That is the ongoing joke when he barrows one of my prize pieces. He also told me
that just a little water on my Marlin could turn it into a Mossberg.

    Congrats to the young lad!
The 30-30 is highly looked over by many. It is an old, outdated cartridge that does not have magical powers need to "harvest" a deer now days, being fed and eating kevalar.

Nice to see the .30-30 continuing on the tradition.
Whatever cannot be remedied, must be endured.
