You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.
Just received my 680-500-HB!

I cast about 400 of these from a friends Lyman single cavity mold . And while I've never tried them in a rifled gun in smoothbores and the base filled with hot glue they did very well out to 40yards in a number of Parker 12 gauge doubles . But then shooting tiny groups with a single bead as an aiming device isn't my best cup of tea .

Honestly, if they need the crutch of a hot glue filled base, I doubt they are going to work for me.
Hope you been doing well 6pt!
Michael
I got mine too!!! Just a few minutes ago.
These look nice and the machining is perfect. I'm supposed to know about that.
Can't wait to cast some.
I have another little project brewing along these lines, and I will post about when it comes to fruition, and these slugs are part of it.

Wow! Those do look awfully nice!
I am still on the fence on this one. I almost ordered but haven't been working much and just got a giant legal bill and had to pay $800 for repairs to my son's car. However, Wow!
I may break down and order a 2 cavity mould. I know, if I want one I better order quick. If worst comes to worse I may get the 4 cavity mould but I'd prefer 2 cavity.
Ranch Dog:
That addition of glue works well and is easy. I fill my slugs... over fill a bit, then invert onto a piece of steel that has been oiled. I press down and squeeze the excess glue out then leave the slug to cool. That results in a solid glue fill and nice flat base. No skirt distortion that way!
The only other way I have managed to avoid skirt distortion with HB slugs is to oven heat treat wheelweights. ACWW distorts even with skirts 0.100" thick in my experience.
If you are casting the slugs from soft lead I think you will get skirt distortion unless you fill. As long as the distortion is consistent and even it shouldn't hurt but... I'd rather not get skirt distortion at all.
And Wow! Again! Those moulds are very nice!

Hey Randy or Ranch Dog, would you please post your experience casting with the new mould? I have always wondered about the NOE RG HP/HB pins. I'm trying to decide if I can afford another mould right now and I know I have to make a decision quickly but I am still on the fence partly because of finances and partly because I wonder about those pins, they make me nervous. If you say they work well i will quit wondering then that bit is put to bed once and for all.
I know NOE makes a nice mould as I have a couple but no HP or HB.

Got you covered!
