    What Scopes?

I'm looking for opinions on which long range rifle scope to put on my 6.5 Fierce Fury. I will use this gun likely for a little caribou hunting. Probably not going to exceed the longest hunting shot 400, but i like to do some more long range shooting at the range out to 600-700 yards.
Budget is probably up to a 1,000 bucks

For the $$ and intended purpose, I'd take a look at the Zeiss Conquest V4 series.....

Burris and Leupold 6X24 would be my choice.

That was the car named Christine. Stephen King wrote a book about it.

This is where my searches begin and end. But I don’t spend anywhere close to $1k on glass. It would be wasted money for the type of shooting I do

I agree. Keep that lightweight rifle lightweight. Thanks for the link, Tatume.

    I almost agree. I’d go with the 2.5 x8 vx3i myself.

Leupold VX5HD line looks like a good option for a long range capable scope that is still lightweight enough to pack around and under $1000

great choice too if you really feel the need to spend more money. It might buy you 2 more minutes of low light shooting and probably has better clarity in the day time if your eyes are younger then mine. Ive had some higher dollar bushnell elites, vx3 leupolds and Nikon monarchs and ziess conquests and sure never saw double the performance for double the price. Once you get into the 2-300 dollar range a 100 bucks more doesn't by much. Where the high dollar scopes earn there worth isn't in optical performance its in mechanics. The precise repeatable ajustments that comp shooters and snipers need. When you buy something like a night force that's what your paying your money for. 90 percent of my scopes once sighted in you could about weld the turrent caps in place and a good many of them don't even get the power ring adusted. Short range guns there all turned down as low as they go and when i do crop damage shooting and shoot out to 500 yards about all of them are left on 6x. In all actuality the newest vx1 leupold or the newest Nikon prostaff are better scopes then the vxIII or the original monarchs were in the 70s and 80s. Probably as good as many of the most expensive scopes back then. thing is people still killed deer back then and thought they had a wonderful scope.

    Leupold VX-5 series
    NF SHV
Vortex is good but generally way to heavy in their premium lines.
    Swaro
    Zeiss
    Kahles

    All in no particular order
