I bought 192 lbs for $50. I had to sort the Zn and Fe out of them. I think I ended up with around 140lbs of wheel weight lead.

l just finished up casting boolits from a 98 pound bucket of range scrap l got a few yrs ago.. l now have 81 pounds of boolits. Not too bad from a bucket l paid $10 for.. They may be on the soft side by some standards. l can only answer by saying l am casting ''Boolits from Boolits''.. l only have another dozen buckets of scrap left. @72 l hope l don't run out of lead/boolits before l run out of ''time''

Here in Oz the prices vary just like they do for you guys.
I spoke to one tyre joint and he said that the recycle yard pays him $80 for a 44 gallon drum full. He had a half drum sitting there and told me to take as much as I wanted for $30. After sorting and smelting I wound up with over 200 lbs of COWW.
I usually go in with my own 2.5 gallon buckets, and most places I can get scrap for about $4 per gallon, so anyone asking for more than that and I pass.
I had one guy tell me he couldn't sell it to me because it was worth too much money We did get a shower of rain that morning, so he hadn't been down here very long
Hard work made me what I am today,
    Broken and broke
