Oh great, another thread that makes me spend money.
I believe the pistol to be a Star, but not sure of the model no., I think they were being sold recently by J&G ?
Does look like a Star, maybe a Model B(9mm) or Model P(45acp)
Star BM 9mm or possibly the Star S .380 but definitey a Star!

During the depression the government loaned out 1917 Smith and Colt revolvers and Krag rifles to banks to defend against robbers. I have always imagined this conversation at the bank.
Bank President: "Perkins this institution pays you $7.50 per week to look out for our depositors and stockholders interests. In the event John Dillinger or the Barrow gang come through that door (with BAR's and Thompsons) the board and I fully expect you to do your duty to protect bank property.
Perkins: Where will you be sir?
Bank President: " Why Perkins I will of course be going out the back door to bring the authorities"
Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.
My wife was the receptionist just inside the door when we lived in Montreal. When she started they asked her what she would do if the bank was robbed. She said " I don't know, as I have never been in a Bank robbery. Three days later two guys came in the door with stockings on their head and pointed a sawed off rifle at her and said "ne bouge pas" ( don't move). She put her hands on the desk and pushed the silent alarm button with her thumb.
The same 2 guys robbed the bank 6 more times. They were finally caught robbing another bank.
There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism—by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide. Ayn Rand
Those two images in the upper left will give the victim a view of the gun in the hand of the perp. You will notice one is a semi auto, the other a revolver. Not expecting a victim soiling themselves while staring down the barrel of a gun to note whether it is a Smith or a Ruger. The whole purpose of these posters was to develop suspect information to compare the MO of an armed robbery suspect.
The bottom is certainly wrong these days. You can buy semi auto versions of SMGs and we all know that ARs aren’t automatic.
I work for a company that does alarm and video for banks and years ago back when VCRs were prevalent we had a printer designed to print a Polaroid style picture off of aVCR. One day I got tapped to bring it to a bank that was robbed. No one got hurt but they were bummed out thinking they would not get a good view of the suspect because he had a mask on. I got some nice pictures of the masked man at the teller counter then started looking at other cameras. Turned out or financially challenged guy didn't put his mask on till he got inside the bank and I was able to get some good shots from a entrance camera.

First thought that popped in my head when I saw the pistol in question was "Star." May be an Ultra Star?
Several years back our local branch bank was robbed by a 20`s age guy and gal. They had waited till the local cop went back to the dept at end of day. It took 45 minutes for a car and officers to respond. They got the duo and the PLASTIC WATER PISTOL they used in their robbery! Robert
That poster was up in the bank when my wife worked in the home loan business years back.
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
I give loading advice based on my actual results in factory rifles with standard chambers, twist rates and basic accurizing.
My goals for using cast boolits are lots of good, cheap, and reasonably accurate shooting, while avoiding overly tedious loading processes.

I don't see that poster to often any more, I've wanted one for the reloading room but haven't lucked out.
I was in a bank that was robbed once. I had the recorder apart for maintenance so the act wasn't recorded. Luckily, I was quickly ruled out by investigators as for the coincidence of the situation.
That person robbed another branch and they brought pictures back to the his first place.
