WTB: M1 Garand gas cylinder gauge

"If it wasn't for bad luck.." so the song starts -- I lent a friend my "GO" and "NO-GO" gas cylinder gauges for the U S Rifle M1 Garand, and he up and died on us. (blood clot let loose) His "luck" worse than mine -- obviously, as I'm still here... BUT -- cutting right to the chase -- I am in want of a set of these. Should you have one relatively surplus to your present needs, I'll be most appreciative if you'd PM me, hopefully with a fair offer.

I'm not making light of his passing -- it still hasn't "hit home" with me... BUT, I do know with his zillion toys at home, in his truck, as well as in his shop -- exacerbated with family (to put it lightly) not on best terms -- the odds of my ever seeing my gauges again are somewhere between nill and none.

    Thanks. (he was 88)

I'm looking for the 2- or 3-piece (.528" AND .532", I believe) go, field, and no-go type set. Replied, partly as a "bump" -- as I'm still hopeful there's a set collecting dust in some member's toolbox.

    I totally understand your predicament.

I would stop over with a picture of your style tool with a note that he borrowed it. Better still if you were lucky to have a copy of an email or text discussing it. I would wait a week or two minimum.

I am also the kind of guy that never wants to be or appear to be one of those opportunist ghouls in the gun community. So letting it go might be something I would do. I have walked away from nice double shot guns of our national guard army chaplain, his family came from Italy for the funeral and was telling me they needed to get rid of them. I was literally in the kitchen of the church’s attached kitchen in dress uniform on break from his honor guard detail. I couldn’t do it.

(For-warning your post and similar are fodder to be justly deleted by a mod, as this is NOT a discussion thread a simple WTB -- I have PM'd you my reply.
