Personal best-440 lbs of ingots in 2.5 hours

Scored a bunch of X-ray shielding a while back, sagged out the Carolla pretty well! Finally got around to ingotizing it today. Used a turkey fryer with a half propane tank pot. The lead was already cut and rolled into 20-30 lb sections. A weed burner sped things up a bit. I've collected enough muffin tins to hold 50-60 lbs of lead. Melt a pot of lead, pour ingots, melt a pot of lead, dump previous ingots, pour next batch, repeat. Finished with a little more than half of a #10 can of slag. Should keep me in 38s for a while!

Thats a good days work! I have watched my time a few times. My pot holds between 350 and 400 pounds. I can have it melted and fluxed and ready in about 30 minutes. I run 7 or sometimes 8 of the Lyman style ingot molds. After 4 or 5 cycles the cooling time gets longer and I have to slow down. I usually have an empty pot in between 1-1/2 and 2 hours. I've gotten where I try to get a group together as having a helper speeds things up a good bit.

Well done! I am lucky to do 100# at a pop, I hate smelting down scrap.
