    Mounting a Fastfire 3 on a 30-30 M94AE?

Has anyone done this? I have a Weaver 2 piece base, and it looks like I might be able to mount the sight onto the rear portion. I have one mounted on a 30 Carbine and love it. It can be used with both eyes open, and makes it easier for my aging eyes to hit stuff. Any thoughts?

    .

Yes, you can use the 94AE's rear scope mount prep holes via mounting a rear Weaver-type base and use a FF#-to-Weaver adaptor.

Yep, the FF3 that I ordered from Midway came with that Weaver base/adapter. I may give it a try, I'm currently using a Williams peep sight on it. Looks like an easy switch.

I’ve got a Turnbull barrel mount and while it can be a little wonky to get level, it worked very well for me. It doesn’t mess up the way a levergun is supposed to feel either.

The sight had to go on another gun but the mount is well worth the effort.

Thanks guys. That Turnbull barrel mount looks interesting. I already have the rear sight removed and filler in place. Hmmm. I'll mount the sight at the rear first and see how I like it. I think I'd prefer if it was more forward though, like it is on my M1 Carbine. One way or the other it's gonna get a FF3 on it. I'm pretty much sold on them.

I had one on a Win 1886 in 45-70 and it worked great. Didn't even look too bad on the gun. Shot like a champ.

I tried this out today and was quite pleased. When shouldered, the sight comes into to view perfectly. No searching for the red dot. 10 shots to get it dialed in, and then it was game on. I have to say that I love that FF3 sight. This is my fourth one, my old eyes appreciate it a lot.

I have a FF 1 and a FF 2 both on short carbines, love them.
