I think that's a pretty good idea. Where are you going to get one?
Remember: Ammo will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no ammo.
You will only be able to shoot the spec 1 ammo out of it but it is still a good gun.
I would love to have one but they were only produced for a short time. Richard Venola reviewed one for G&A magazine and it got high marks.
Take it with you next trip to range please and give us a report. The 6.8 is a good hunting cartridge and the Mini shoulders like a carbine should.

I will shoot it next time I get up,our range is off our back porch,we have a pistol range on one end a 50 yard range off the other end and 100 and 150 across the pond
Love the 6.8 for hunting. I have used one of mine (I have had several) on mule deer, Whitetail, antelope, coyotes, and small varmints. If it's accurate use it. The little 6.8 kills better than it should

Some people measure success in Minutes of Angle
that's good to hear,we have to get it sighted in and ready to go
we've shot 7 deer with a mini in 6.8 awesome gun! most shots were pretty close shots on moving deer and all were one shot stops these things are awesome snap shooting carbines. 6.8 will make believers out of people who think you need a magnum to kill little old whitetails
nice to hear,i normally hunt with a 308 just decided to change it up this year and use some other gun out of the safe, and with it being short its easy to maneuver in my wheelchair
Although I no longer own one the 6.8 is a great round. The sale of that upper purchased a custom Encore barrel in 6.5 CM.
I have one for my 10 year old daughter it's the stainless synthetic version I bought an extra wood stock at a gunshow and cut 5 inches off of it so it fits her and mounted a red dot makes a great 100 yard kids deer rifle
6.8 works well as a hunting round. I've been hunting with a 6.8 AR for 3 years now. It's put one buck and a dozen pigs in the freezer, one shot each. Bought a second 6.8 for my son to use. I use and recommend Federal Fusion 115gr. Palmetto has it on sale for $16.99 with free shipping for 5+ boxes. And Federal is running a $5 per box rebate ($50 max). Net $11.99 per box.
