Out in the bush looking for elk. I'm surprised hat I have service. Just sitting and waiting to see where they are going to poke out so I'm not going blind in the morning.

    Elk

That's the point. Pics. Probably won't get one as it's a 6 point zone but pics are good, to be outside as well is a blessing. Weather is great. Heard some calls after last light.

This weather is a little too nice. Now the winds started at about 3am so I was just hunting where the elk were. Horses are enjoying their break though

I found ten hunters in 3 camps. 2 guys in there 50's in tight shorts on Ebikes and 2 elderly ladies with little dogs that didn't like horses. So much for hunting.

Please keep the story going, I am jealous! I lied when I told my wife that I only needed to go once in my life! Been twice and want to go again. I turn 60 next week, maybe next year? hc18flyer

My turn is next month on the Western Slope. The trouble is that the place we hunt is a wintering ground for elk and if the snow has not arrived in time, neither have the elk.
When you care enough to send the very best, send an ounce of lead.

I'll be heading in again when it's cold. That usually shakes out the majority of hunters. My wife has a cow elk draw in a different zone so I'm spread out a little thin. At least I got my Ram this year. I always found that elk hunting deserved more time than I put in as I'm always chasing sheep. 9 yr old daughter just got her first grouse today which she is quite proud of.
Deer rut is coming up going to have to break out the snider or Martini for that as deer have been getting the black powder treatment for the past 3 yrs. no sense in changing that. I was hoping to get the 1860 spencer running but I'm still figuring out the bullet mold (56-56). This will be next yrs deer getter.
