You have a lot of ingot molds! Smart thing for rapid, high volume production.

Which reminds me to get off my fanny and do some ingotting for my own stockpile.

Dang you have quite the setup there. That melting pot and stack ingot molds would make short work or my 5,000 lbs of wheel weights I have been avoiding.

Thats a nice looking efficient set up! I was tempted to get those guys to build me a larger version of that smelter as I prefer smelting in larger batches. The smaller ones were affordable but one the size I wanted was pretty expensive. If I was at the beginning of my casting career I would have and I even considered getting a couple of casting buddies to go in partners. But, we're all older guys and I'm not even actively looking for lead anymore. I do snag anything that comes by that is cheap or free.

Me and a few buddies processed between 6 and 7000 pounds of wheel weights last winter. Using my set up we worked parts of 8 different days. We tried to do 1000-1100 pounds a day. The 8 days included setting up at the beginning and breaking everything down and cleaning up at the finish. Good Luck with your 5000 pounds!

Your Rich that makes me smile a buddy came by my house one time and we were talking while his kid was looking at everything around the shop. I noticed he kept eyeballing the buckets with ingots in them it was not long he picked up one and looked at me and said man you must be rich. I should have told him there were not silver bars but lead but I just said I do alright and not to tell everyone about my buckets full of ingots. His dad just smiled and we went back to talking lol.

Nice pile of lead there! Haven't been able to find any printer lead around here. Wheel weights are fairly easy to come by and range scrap is almost inlimited at my range. Pewter can be found on a somewhat regular basis as I have 12 thrift stores within 20 miles of me.....clened them all out over the last month. No monotype or linotype though. Not sure where to find it either.

You can find monotype and linotype on e-bay just be sure to buy it in the original form and shop for the lowest price per pound.
