First thought...I'd keep the stained glass lead separate, I have an inclination that it's prolly more pure & clean. Dunnoh really, just my first thought.

Great score. The lead is still out there, one just has to be looking all the time.Sounds like what I been finding sheet.sheathing,pipe.with a bar of solder now an then.Just about nothing in the way of type metal or anything with any tin or antimony in it.

Great score at a good price/ They are charging $1.50 a pound in my neck of the woods

Stained glass lead (called "Lead Came")
"Welcome to Cascade Metals - Products - Lead Came. Cascade Lead's came is made from a very closely controlled alloy that combines a fine grain structure with high strength. We start with 100% pure lead to which we add exacting quantities of tin, antimony, copper, and bismuth."

I know, to much info: If interested

I also spied two pallets of specialized alloy that weighed several tons. When I asked Mr. Moody about it, he said it was for a bullet caster in Virginia.
If someone wants to post the pictures here, I'll send them to you. Send me your email address via PM.

Everything you scored would classify as soft but the cable sheathing probably is going to run 98-98.5% where the rest is going to be 99% +. I've scored lots of cable sheathing and have used it for black powder and for round balls. Thats a good score!

Nice find. I have a guy that sells me sorted clip on wheel weights for 35 cents a pound. In a 50 lb bucket he might miss sort 2 individual weights. Needless to say when he calls I show up with cash.

I was at our local scrap yard scrounging some brass when a gent pulls up with a pickup truck full of scrap roofing lead. When they got done weighing what he brought in I asked if I could buy some. Guy says ok and how much?. 500lbs went in my truck. Since I do all my smelting with one of the turkey fryer burners and cast iron dutch oven all the fumes from the tar aren't going in the house. Funny thing about scrap yards, always seem to spend what I made plus some more when I go there. Guess I'm a junkyard junkie. Frank

There is no cable sheathing in the bunch.
This is sheathing is the stuff used around pipes that stick out of roofs.
    The pipes are drain pipes.
Like I said earlier, I'll send pictures if someone will post them here.
