Finally success with the Lee Safety Prime

Ok, so I struggled for a long time trying to make the Lee Safety prime work on my Lee economy turret with no success. I sold the press a few months ago and just finally got the Lee Classic Cast turret as a replacement, and lo and behold the Safety prime works like a charm. So I guess the point of this post is twofold. First to let anyone who has tried the same thing that the Safety prime does work, at least on the Classic press, and second to see if others have had this same experience.

I have the older make with the Round primer holder Lee Safety Prime & it worked on the Classic Cast Turret, but I had to call Lee & they sent me the "riser" to make it work, free of charge, since it was not supplied with the old one. The old one had a different "riser" piece, IIRC, and it would not work properly on the 4 hole CCT.

Perhaps you had the new style "riser" & instead the old one & that is why it did not work before?

I may be mistaken about old/new, but I know that I had to get a "riser" from lee to make the old one work.

Anyway, Glad to see you have it working great now!
