Not mine but I thought it was cool
A friend of mine had some como material that the airforce used to camo airplanes. Found some trees that were close to each other , wrapped this material around 4 trees , made a nice blind in no time. Put a lawn chair in it, it was the best.
I have a blind in my 5-gallon bucket. It is several lengths of camo fabric, sewn with drawstring on the long sides. I roll it all up and into the bucket along with all my other accoutrements. When I get to where I want to be, I find 3 or 4 saplings close to each other, wrap the camo fabric around saplings, tighten the drawstring, pin up with clothespins, and sit on the bucket.
I use store bought blinds with success.
One of my favorites is the little "chair blinds" Ameri-step makes them and they are GREAT! Especially for rainy hunts as they can be waterproofed and brushed in or backed into a tree with low branches quickly and easily.

I have used it for years, I may not use it every hunt, but I'll always have it in the truck.

I have a blind... not much to look at really.. several miles in from the trail.. made mostly from debri that I hauled outta the marsh and so on...
A closer look
Not very fancy.. but the lessers love that marsh as the entire marsh is underwater during the higher tides.. I have been stranded out there more then once I am sad to say. It’s a long wait for the tide to go out... pleanty of time to Pratice calling and such..

I will love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul, and all my mind.
I had a 5' x 15' cano tarp that had the leaf scallops cut into it.
Take the canoe anywhere, pull into a patch of cattails, throw the tarp over the top.
I've had big Canadian geese so low (and so dang early before season opened)
Bald Eagles 5 feet above my head. And if a deer hunting ground blind was needed, it fit into a 5 gallon bucket. Sit on the bucket and throw it over my head. I about wore that tarp out.
I remember at the time it was not cheap, but it was well worth the price. And the memories, well, they are priceless.
GhostHawk that is a pretty good idea. Giving me some thoughts.
I've got a Dog house blind that I've not used and a lot of camo material that I got free from work. It's going to be used this year. I figure to throw the camo over the 4 wheeler and sit beside it and see what comes around. If I don't see anything I'll change tactics.
I can't use mine for dear she won't go in it. Sorry I could not resist.....duck, dear or anything else you use.....

Been looking at some, seems like they have a 'shot-thru' screen on many. How the heck does that work?
Whatever!
I have a small pop up blind but came here to learn about the home-made ones. I like the idea of wrapping material around some trees then sitting on a bucket. Guess you could lean back against a tree.
Walmart sells camo burlap. Looks like it might work for something like this.
I made a 4x5 blind out of cedar boards. It was only 2ft off the ground, but this year, I bought some metal brackets and plan to raise it up to 8ft high. I will have to disassemble the blind in order to elevate it. It's going to be a challenging task. It's been up for 2 years, and have killed 2 deer out of it. I would post a pic, but they are too big.
I do not use one. I use what is on the area that will give me cover. Just make a path to see and shoot and sit on a pad. I been doing this for years and works for me. because if you want to sit some other place you have no problems with not have any. I have shot deer that came 5 ft from me this way .
