    Cheyenne Wy, BPTR midrange match

The Cheyenne Rifle and Pistol club will be holding a BPTR midrange match Oct. 21 at their CMP range north of Cheyenne on Oct. 21.
Dick Hennebry the match director is asking for shooters to show up around 7 am , so squadding and such can be done in a timely fashion, and get the firing started as early as possible.

    Thanks for posting it.
If I can go, will likely will be driving from Cody's silhouette match. A good two day event weekend. I hope the weather moves out by then.

    Here are the match scores.
The match weather was warn enough for a light jacket and the winds were both mild and hard. Sometimes mild and hard while getting ready to make the next shot.

NRA midrange match black powder (loaded in cartridges like 45-70) has to match categories, ANY POSITION, basiclly shot prone from the shooting mat at 200, 300 & 600yards.
And then the THREE POSITION, shot standing offhand at 200ys, sitting or kneeling at 300ys and any or prone at 600ys.
All rifles are singleshot black powder cartridge rifles (BPCR) loaded with lead plain based bullets and 100% black powder.
Targets are the same as the highpower targets. Pits and target scores are used to to pull and score targets, 'cus you can't see holes at those distances.

For a cast bullet junky, this is about as much fun as you can have with your pants on. (can I really say that? )

This copy and paste from excel does not column well here so do your best to make sense of it.

NRA Midrange BPTR CRPC Cheyenne 10/21/2018
Name Class Category 200y 300y 600y Total Place

It was a good match. Those within reasonable driving distance of Cheyenne would do well to attend the matches next season to get a taste of bptr shooting.

I got a kick out of Linda, she had never done this before and as luck would have it she got to go to the pits the first relay. We helped her along, and she caught on right away, and before the firing was done in that first relay she was grinning and all excitedly said, "this is a lot of fun".

And by the time all the firing was complete, Linda and John were asking if membership to the club was open, and what day of the month were the matches going to be... It was good to see "new" shooters get a good taste of the target rifle matches.

    Don,
This was a fun shoot! Linda and Dean both have the affliction real bad now and as pumped up as they are it rubs off on friends, so maybe the North part of the state will have a larger showing next spring...?

Greg that would be a good deal, see you all in Worland the weekend before memorial day, if not before.
