9mm AR 15 Cast Bullets Yea or?

I just bought a,CMMG upper and mags.
And have ammo cans and cans of Lyman/Ideal 358242 that are 128 grains and shoot well in my S&W 3rd gens and 1911s.
Are 100 % my go to range fun loads.
I have read here that the gas tubes kinda self clean on ARs.
So thoughts on shooting cast 9mm with Glens White Label commercial Red Carnuba lube?

9mm ARs are blow back. No gas tube. Cast should work fine.

I ran strictly cast in my AR9 I had. It gave excellent results with 120-150gr. I had Tom at Accurate Molds combine 2 of his molds for the 35-140T for me. It ran like snot through mine and was very accurate. Mine didn’t have a gas tube, I was blowback action.

I thought the CMMG 9mm's were a blowback or delayed blowback action. If they are, I would have no problems shooting a plain based boolit from them.

On the other hand, if it is gas operated, I'd be hesitant. I remember the problems a buddy had cleaning lead from a Steyr GB with its gas system.

On our blow back 9mm fun guns it’s a lead diet, 120 130 and 150 ish cast boolits powder coated and sized 357 run fine, they were suspect in one not running good out the gate but that problem was traced to a buffer problem, heavier buffer and problems solved

Your cmmg is a delayed blowback with no gas system. Lead will not be an issue. There's only a very few guys that have made a 9mm DI.

I shoot cast in mine regularly and have zero issues.

I will be shooting cast in my 5.56 AR soon as well. I need to get my powder coating playing better.

They do work well in the old high Point 995. No problem at all except it doesn't take long for the boy to shoot up all the ammo.

Cast and PC'd is all I shoot through my 9mm AR. Fun and really cheap to shoot. I think lubed would be fine.

To much fun. With the new primer replacement reality i wouldn't suggest such a creature for the next 2-5years.

Certainly yes! Had a Colt 9mm AR years back and it loved cast boolits. My FM products one eats them up too. I burn up the loads that didn't work out well in my pistols through it. Accurate too.

I use the Lyman 358242 bullet in my FX9. I have to load it longer than my pistol loads (one lube groove exposed), I PC them and have actually started using plain base check also. Did not have leading in the barrel just in the comp, pbgc fixed this. I have been running them with the same load as my pistol loads 3.2 gn titegroup. Shoots nice and has min dot bounce with my setup.
