Unhappy Jeff Tanner has passed away

I knew Jeff Tanner mostly by his reputation as a mould maker (well deserved!) and by e-mail conversations with him regarding a RB mould I was about to order. Sadly, he has passed away. Here's the notice from another forum:

Posting on behalf of the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain (MLAGB). Jeff will be known here by many for his mould making.

It is with great sadness to report that Jeff Tanner passed away today at 12:30 with Chris and family at his side. Jeff was one of the first 100 members of the MLAGB with his first International Shooting competition in 1974.

Jeff was well known to the shooting community and he will be sadly missed by all...Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Chris and their two children.

    Rest in peace Jeff

Oh man...I was trying to contact him today for another mold. Prayers sent for his family!

Sad news. I have several of his molds.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Apparently his son is going to continue the business, as he has been doing much of the mold making recently.
