Mine will shoot any of the usual 45 Colt cowboy combinations. Just expect the action to be really smooth and the gun to put them together tightly on the target. I do love an El Pat Comp.
    KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.

8 grains Unique under 255 grain bullet. 7.5 grain Unique under 230 grain bullet also nice.

My 1873 Peacemaker loves 6 grains of Trail Boss behind a .454 255gr boolit.

6 gr. of Red Dot under a 255 grain Ideal/Lyman 454-190 shoots great out of my 7 1/2" Uberti Cattleman.

Congrats - you'll love the one you're getting! And we'd love to see pictures when you get it!

Like bedbug said 6gr of red dot under a 250 up to a 300gr slug is freakishly accurate out of the 6 45 colts I've shot them out of. For me the 300gr. Was the most accurate and easy to shoot

Never fired a El Patron. But I can say i love and trust my Uberti Cattleman so much, that it is one of my top "every day carries".
