This way you don't need to download any third party software apps or programs. This all in your computer right now. I'm on a windows 10 PC.
Put your pic on your desktop screen.
Left click on your picture, click on 'send to' then Select 'mail recipient in the pop up box.
A picture size box pops up. Select the 'Smaller 640 x 480'. Click 'Attach'.
A message screen pops up like you are going to send the pic to someone, but you aren't going to send an email.
Highlight (click on) your resized picture, left click and select copy.
I have a folder I put my resized pics in. I left click in the folder and select 'paste' to drop the resized pic in the folder.
Now the pic is ready to be used in your Cast Boolits posting.

This whole process takes about 30 seconds. Easy-Peasy !!

I can't upload photos from my computer.
It worked fine till a few months ago.
Photo size is good. Nowhere near allowed number of photos.

I click on the add photo icon and get the pop up box. Browse for the file name, it shows up in the box, click on "upload file" and I get nothing... no pic, no error message, nothing... pop up box is still there, no results.

Please don't tell me to go to a hosting site, I tried three of those with unsatisfactory results and I see no reason to go that route when this should be a simple operation.

Can one of the Mods help me with this?

Using Windows 10. Recent updates changed the photo editing process but I got that figured out.

    HELP!!!

    Jerry,

Have you tried the suggestion provided in post #2 of this thread?

File type is jpg, size 640X480, 6.59MB. User CP says I'm using 749.9 KB to store attachments.
I click on the add photo icon and a pop up box appears. I choose add from computer and click browse.
That opens the photo folder in my computer. I find the pic I want, click on the file and click OPEN.
The file name appears in the pop up box.

I click on "upload file" and the pic should appear in my post but nothing happens... nothing at all.

This worked fine for me up till a couple months ago, what happened?

Is there some setting I need to change?

I am also having a bear of a time with photos and my iPad. For years photobucket worked fine until the stupid banner and the fact they want you to pay now.

Have tried Imgur with limited results - link will post but nothing I do on my iPad (according to instructions…either newest version or close to it 7th gen) will resize the pic so I can post. If I try attaching pic from iPad I get ”upload failed” and I’m guessing that’s due to the size, file is in jpeg format.

    Thanks in advance!

The instructions provided are about as simple as is the procedure to flush a toilet on a submarine. If I can’t click the icon to select a photo then another to post the photo, something just ain’t right!

It took me a while to figure it out too. Open the image you want to upload, look at the bottom and choose that pencil icon. Now look at the top right and click on those three vertical dots. Then choose the resize option. I use 60% after that you must save the resized image or it will revert to the original size. My phone is an Android device, not sure how Apple works.

I too have found that the KEY to getting uploads to work is the size of the file you're trying to upload... I've used Windows tools, 3rd party resizing applications and online compressors, then saved the compressed files locally. I always size down to the 300kb range, then upload, and it works every time. But if the upload file is too big; no joy....
