B-Square Slip over no-drill mount for GP 100

Several years ago I bought this mount and thought it would be perfect since it also has a tunnel so one can see the sights.
When tighten all three screws down SNUGGLY, the mount still walks forward with each shot with moderate loads. With full power loads it races forward until the first screw in the mount contacts the back of the front sight.
For those unfamiliar with this mount , it slips over the barrel and has three screws that cause the mount to "clamp" down on the barrel when they are tightened.
It holds quite securely until one starts applying the recoil impulses of firing.
Maybe there is a good reason one does not see them around any more.
I have thought about drilling crosswise through the mount and barrel rib assuming a screw through both would have enough strength in shear to hold it in place.
Not sure the impact on the barrel though, not strength, "accuracy"

FORGOT ADD THE TRUE PURPOSE OF THIS POST

Anyone have any "solution" to the slippage problem?

I don't know how you stop the slippage, other than drilling and tapping. I'm quite sure you don't want to do that. B-Square has made several no drill bases and most don't work all that great. No offense to them.

I'm guessing the mount is anodized aluminum? Probably slick and shiny.

You could rough up the surface with some sand paper so it gets a better grip on the barrel. Use rosin, sticky tape or anything else that usually works with scopes slipping in rings. (Loctite, nail polish or paint work too but are harder to clean off).

Please don't cross drill through your barrel lug!
Happiness is a couple of 38's and a bucket of ammo.

I don't do optics on handguns. I bought a S&W m19 6" with a scope & no drill mount, owner had saved rear sight or I might not have bought it. Anyway took of scope and mount to replace back sight. On both sides of frame just ahead of forcing cone the blue is wore of from the no drill mount
walking from recoil. If I did mount scope it would be with a mount that is held by screws that gun
would have to be D&Ted for.

I have one that clamps on the barrel but you also remove the rear sight and uses a sight holes to mount the mount . I had it on a Ruger Redhawk 41 mag with no problems.
