I should clarify that my 10 min at 400° means once the temp reaches 400°. They are in the oven for about 18-20 min total

Its possible to get nice looking bullets from the bake in a pile method. I regularly coat about 5lbs of bullets and bake them in a pile. what works for me is a total of about 20min in the toaster @ 400degress. 2 thin coats seam to work best, also bullets must be separated while they are hot. I shake them in a wire basket to separate.
I only do this with bullets that I can not stand up or that are smaller than 45cal. Also I scratch test and hammer test at least 5 from each batch.
The scratch test is for the hardness of the coating.
The hammer test is for elasticity of the coating.
I don't care for separating the stuck bullets & any resulting fault line left so I stand them up. Using a jig to align them, takes 12-13m to fill 150 ct tray. For bulk pile coating I prefer HT, they don't stick together.
EVERY GOOD SHOOTER NEEDS TO BE A HANDLOADER.
