Been years since I slithered through the hardwoods in search of bushytails. Hopefully that'll change in the near future.

I had three candidates for those walks, an Anschutz 1516 in 22 mag with a 3-9 compact, a Rem 541S with a lupy 2-7 rf and an 1100 Special Field in 20. Boy, I've missed those walks.

Since, i picked up a nice goberment 40X but it is alittle big. Pondered a M2 but contemplating a Volquartson lightweight 16 carbon fiber Summit rifle now hat they have the bugs worked out hopefully.

This year while deer hunting on my property I've noticed a ton of squirrels so the tried and trusty Marlin 60 topped off with a Nikon Rimfire scope will be busy as soon as deer season is over with.

    Going to be fun.

Carry a .22 pistol while on deer stand. Self preservation from rabid zombie bushy tails!
Also coup de gra on slightly less than dead Bambis.

My companion on the most recent small game walks, I have a serious attraction to 410s and vintage pumpguns. This is a High Standard Flight King in 410. Light and handy but points very well. Dove season was open when I dug it out for walks, sadly closed before I got time. Rabbits now, and squirrels if the rabbits are too Wraskelly!

My favorite is an older Win M42 .410 with full choke.
