Husky 9 x 57 questions

Looking for a a .35 cal rifle. Anybody have one of the Husvarna 9 x 57 rifles? It would be exclusively for cast boolets. Bore diameter? I have been watching the Simpson's Ltd site, and they list a couple. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, hc18flyer

Husqvarna never made any 9x57 rifles to my knowledge, only 9.3x57 for a .366" bullet
The 9x57 is a German thing, not Swedish.

I believe from reading my old COW book that the 9x57 uses a .355-.356 dia bullet states that normal USA made 35 cal bullets can be sized down and used . Don't know if the actual bore dia is .350 like a regular 35 cal but the groove dia is slightly smaller than .358

I have a Sauer & Sohn in the 9 X 57 and I like the cartridge. Also have a Husky in 9.3 X 57 and I'd hate to have to live on the difference.

If you find a 9 X 57 you like my experience has been you absolutely must slug the bore. My Sauer is pretty worn the first 8-10 inches of the bore and still mics .352 groove diameter in the good part of the barrel. Had to make a die to size down jacketed bullets because I have been absolutely unable to make it shoot cast. They turn and tumble like a circus tumbling clown. Jacketed bullets shoot pretty darn good! Wonder what it would cost to have it re-bored to 9.3?

I was wrrrrrong! Simpson`s has small ring Mausers in 9 x 57. TBG- I am going back and forth between a JES rebore and other options. Missed an opportunity for a .358 Handi barrel. Still have one project ahead of my next .358 Win. hc18flyer

Yep, found em, thanks. I was looking thru the Huskys. I would really like a 9x57 but think I'll pass on those. Thanks again for the heads-up!

I found a friend a German rifle several years ago...not even sure if there was a makers stamp on it...double set triggers...shoots great...think it has a .358 bore...just lucked out...

That is very nice. I would need a recoil pad if using top loads, though!
