    Single six

Just wondering on my ruger which seems to be in between the single six and super single six. Kind of think it's made in 1971 but from the charts on ruger it doesn't show up. I know the front sight isn't normal but I know someone one here has more knowledge on these rugers than I do.

Is the front sight base screwed on ?

If so it's a custom replacement.

I believe that the "Super Single Six" just refers to the adjustable sight model. Why do you think the front sight isn't normal?

I had one like that, and the original front sight was screwed on.

I'm pretty sure it is the original front sight but most other rugers I've seen have a blade sight or one the slopes forward towards the muzzle. I've seen the ones like on mine on other rugers but was kind of wondering how many have the sight like mine.

According to the RUGER web sight it's a Super Single Six shipped in 1970, looks fairly average to me, in great shape, shoot it and have FUN!

It looks like the front sight for the Ruger Mk1 Target. Great for accuracy rough on holsters.

    FWIW:

The Ruger CF revolvers had the front sight blade with the sloping rear face, as did some Old Model (3-screw) Single-Six's made around 1970.

The "fixed sight" Ruger Single-Six generally had the rounded front sight blade that resembled half a US Dime.

The New Model Single-Six's & Bearcat's had a "half-dime" front sight blade that has a flat face as the rear portion of the sight blade,

The Ruger Super Single-Six's AFAIK all had the hooked/target front sights like yours.
