    Glen E. Fryxell Fans

Many of you have heard that Glen Fryxell has been writing a full length book on bullet casting, most of those that have heard this have been eagerly waiting for it.

The wait is over, the book is out and it is outstanding. The foreword is by John Taffin and says it all about this book.

Glen decided not to publish in a paper book but instead has published the book on the LASC web site.

    From Ingot to Target:
A Cast Bullet Guide for Handgunners

I'm sure you'll enjoy Glen's writing as much as I did.

    Rick

Every site that I have belonged to including this one are very lucky to have such a knowledgeable writer such as Glenn, I know that he has helped me out a bunch. And on top of that I really enjoy reading his writings.

Thank you for the kind words folks, I really do enjoy learning about this stuff and then writing up what I learn. But the writing is going to have to wait for a little while, 'cause now it's time to go hunting! I just finished loading up some 454424 HPs into .45 Colt cases to take down to Oregon with me to hunt blacktailed deer with Rob Applegate on his place. I'm really looking forward to this trip!

I think that he would , but he is to busy at his real job; I know that I was reading his stuff on silicates a long time before that I knew that he knew what a gun was. Then once I knew that he liked guns it made me more envious that he lived in the land of neat silicates and he got to transverse them with a wheel gun... must be the life.

Thumbs up Glen could never write for a magazine,

because his writing style is pleasant, factual, well thought and laid out, AND IS NOT A GIANT ADVERTISEMENT for as many products as he can stuff in a sentence, letting advertisement override his presentation of entertaining and useful information.
The clear concise style with hunting stories interspersed into the thread is what I enjoy.

Everyone's information on this site is based on "simple fact of doing" and that is what makes it great to visit here. Glen and everyone here have the goal of showing what can be done, whether one follows the high dollar route of the on the cheap and both work to a degree and most work beyond the limitations that most experts have claimed in the past!

Mauser1959, you are obviously reading the "musings" produced for another reason also.

Always good to see another article by Mr Fryxell.

I don't remember when I first read them but "The Summer of 38" and "The Preachers Gun" have special places in my memeory.

Glen, please keep writing, I promise I will keep reading.

    Thank you.

Uh, Glen... did you have to get that mold modified to HP configuration, or did it come from the factory that way?

I used a factory 454424 HP mould to cast those bullets. There aren't very many of those around, so if you want one you might want to consider getting a 454424 converted to drop HPs.

PS -- Buckshot does beautiful work HP-ing moulds. In addition, I just learned of this new service in Oregon for HP-ing moulds: http://www.hollowpointmold.com/

Glen ranks right up there with any gun writer in the last thirty years the only difference being that he does not write for any major publications. His articles are entertaining, informing and well written. I have learned much from reading them. Also, Glen is very generous with his time answering many questions on and off of this forum.

I, like others, anxiously await the publication of the cast bullet book he is currently writing. It sure would make a nice Xmas present.

I've read most of Glenn Fryxell's articles and enjoyed them. They are invaribly well written, and very informative, for newbie and old-timers as well. Keep up the good work !
