    357 Max Ammo Boxes

    Hey, another question. As usual!

For .357 Maximum Ammo Storage Boxes, I am looking around at the "usual suspects", MTM and so on, and not seeing any 50-round or 100-round storage boxes for loaded rounds.

Does anyone know of any of these? Worst case I guess I can 3d print something eventually... Thanks!

When I still loaded .357 Max. I used MTM RS-50 boxes. The box says 17 Rem., .222 Rem. & Mag. .223 Rem. 6-47. I was loading 158 gr. XTPs.

That should do me then. The down side is that when the critters here knock the box over, the rounds will probably fall out of the slots and be a total mess - That's why I was wondering if there was something better. Maybe I'll get some foam out and block them in place somewhat. Thanks!

I've used thin packing foam to take up space in this type of box and it eliminates rattling of the rounds. You're welcome!

Yes, that's about what I was thinking of. I know if you need to cut foam you have about 2 choices, either an electric carving knife (and freezing the foam helps a LOT) or you can use a hot wire to carve it. (I've used both) but I have a laser cutter / engraver (at a friends' as he can set it up) and that would do it too. But I may just buy the right thickness of foam to do the job in the first place Going to use it for varminting so a Keith or Truncated Cone bullet probably will be the boolit of choice; PCed probably. Should ruin a Coyote's week. If I don't have the 7-30 Waters barrel on, then that'll do it instead

I did a search for 357 maximum ammo cases on the main online auction site and found a couple of listings. None of them are mine since I have never loaded that cartridge.
They are kind of expensive though. Near $14 a pop.

I imagine the RS-100s will work as well - Or other makers' equivalent. Thanks all!

tazman - Thanks - Yes that's a bit much. Contender fodder so just a few will do but on my budget I'll take the cheaper boxes Thanks though! Good to know in case I need other options.

Mine are in a MTM 50. It lists 45-70 on the cover.

Love that cartridge. For varmints with the Max..look for some Remington 150 gr spire points for the 35 Remington. I find them regularly at gun shows. They were made for use in the old 141 pumps. They also made a 200 gr spire point. I also find them occasionally. And your only good box is going to need foam.

I am pretty sure that 357 Max will not fall out of the MTM ammo box for 223 if turned upside down or sideways. That’s what I use also.

    I use a J&J Ammo Box (PN 22-100) for 22 Hornet.
They say they are for 22 Hornet, 30 Carbine, 357 Max

I use the RS-100, even empty cases can’t fall from position. 357 max empty is only ~.150” shorter than a .223 case and .223 rim diameter is about the same as 357 max case diameter.

I also use the ammo box for the .223Rem as a box for the Max. Also use a box labeled for a 30-30 Win. The fit loose and need some foam on top to hold them in place, but it works
