Very intriguing design. seems like it would be difficult to chamber? Obviously no good for reliability in an autoloader, but how is it in a bolt gun cycled quickly? Would CRF be an advantage here?

Not likely to be magazine feeding friendly out of most rifles, but it all depends on the geometry of each individual gun. CRF wouldn't necessarily help and might even cause more problems as the round can't just pop free of the magazine and wiggle toward the center of the chamber. As a simple test you could take any standard for caliber cast boolit and seat it upside down in a sized case to the approximate OAL of a cartridge loaded with this boolit and visualize if it feeds toward the center of the chamber out of the magazine. Obviously a .311" shank is going to jam in the throat, so it wouldn't chamber fully, but it would give you a working idea of the feeding potential. Idea number two, the walls of the HP are so thin, you could probably very easily swage the nose into a more rounded or truncated cone shape with an appropriate top punch. The HP is so huge the boolit is still going to fragment regardless of some nose reprofiling.
