    Gun Show this weekend

Having our, twice a year, Gun Show this weekend.
For some reason, it's the slow show.
But hoping it changes this year.
    Not looking for anything new.
    As always, money is short.
    But you never know.
    Hope to sell a bunch.

I always take a list of reloading tools and components I could use. I love gun shows.

At our last show, I sold more excess than I have in years, even though it is our slow show. Course, I priced them reasonable which probably has alot to do with it.

I'll be headed to a local gunshow tomorrow morning. Not looking for anything in particular, but I know I will have a good time.

Got one here in Rochester too, I'm going in the AM hope to find some deals but not looking for anything in particular.

    We had a nice show.
Lots of people, but not much buying.
    From me anyway.
I found some molds and handles.
Also found a Redfield tube sight.
    Always wanted to try one.
Other than that, I didn't see anything I needed.
Sold enough to make some money. Even with the stuff I bought.

The one thing I did have in mind, they were nowhere to be found. .30 cal gas checks. One vendor had .22, 270, .35, .44 & .45 gas checks, 100/$5. but no .30 cal. Ordered some from Sage Outdoors.

    Bunch of us were talking.
Seems not to many reloaders here.
Lots of new shooters just want to "go bang"
They really don't care where it hits.
Cast shooters are almost nonexistent. Except cowboy shooters.
The guy I got the molds from, was selling off a house clean out.

I did get some free stuff.
Friend gave my two good books.
    Modern Custom Rifles
    Ruger No1
Guy with the molds gave me a lee Pro disc and RCBS 505, missing pan and hanger.
Another friend gave me a soft rifle case for my scoped H-Bar.
    Fun, but tiring.

i am a big fan of older guns. the last gun show i went to everything i was interested in where over priced and any supplies that there were deals on were sold out. i guess i could get up and wait in line for the door to open but it just ain't worth it for me. i still like to just look but they have moved the shows about 25 miles away so i don't get to many anymore.

I haven't even seen a mold at one of the local shows in at least 4 or 5 years.

I'm sorry, I take that back, there is a guy who sells new components who always has 1 NIB lee 9mm 2 cavity on his table marked $79.

So it sounds like a pretty decent score to me!

I also visited the mold guy at the Honolulu show, any mold you wanted for 25 bucks! Got an unused lyman 4 cavity 356402 with handles for 25 bucks. And 2 single cavity ideals, mold#358250 and a 323471 (no handles) for 5 bucks apiece. Must of had over 75 molds, all bargain priced. I was shocked to see that they were not moving. Must not be many cast bullet guys in Honolulu. Probably should of bought more (truly give away prices for saeco, ideal, H&G, lyman, and Winchester molds) but nothing I really needed.

Cost for admission to this fairly large gunshow in paradise was 6 bucks. Was crowded (and I thought Honolulu was all blue, guess not.) but really wide aisles, so easy to get around.

They even had a featured display of Mausers! I was somewhat underwhelmed. But did see a unappreciated gem, a m1891 Mauser rifle with characteristics that suggested it was pulled from the Argentine contract at the factory and sent to Spain. I was in luck, it was at the end of the display past the guard rope,(no one around to help) so got close to see the serial number (Didn't touch) and was instantly caught by a docent that took his job very seriously (haha, where are they when you need them!). Anyway, felt like an idiot. but the guy was cool, he got me the number (fifth gun I have found, so serial number helps to determine size of this unusual contract) also got my phone number so the owner could call to find out what he has. he never did, to bad. His totally common Argentine Mauser may really be a rare Spanish Mauser sent to Cuba in 1898.

That is our club that puts on the show and display.
I didn't have time to look at the display.
That is the same guy I got my molds from.
Not much of a handgun shooter, so I got only rifle molds.
He had a bunch of 7mm molds, but I don't have anything that shoots 7mm.
If you want, I can get in touch with the owner of the Mauser.
Yes, not many cast boolet shooters here.
Most of the action shooters shoot cheap jacketed.
Cowboy shooters order their cast boolets.
Besides myself, I know of maybe a dozen other cast rifle shooters.
