I'm with you! Although plastic is nice if you need to do a lot of crawling through raspberry thickets. But i agree even though they are functional, they lack beauty. The nice thing about this build is that I will need to shoot it. Tim is rather adamant that guns he builds are meant to be used. If the stock gets too scratched up all I need to do is send it back, and he will fix it. He would rather see a gun come back for scratch repair rather than have it sit in the safe somewhere.
Tim has done work for me as well; GREAT Smith and GREAT person.
I love nice wood on a rifle. Years ago, I got a chance to get an 80% TC Contender thumbhole and a 50% matching forearm that was 3 inches wide and 3 inches tall at normal length. They were made from the most beautiful wood I had seen in a long time. I blocked off the forearm, cut the channel and the slot for the hanger. I left it wide and flat for bench work. I did not realize how good the wood was until I started to finish it, once I started oiling it I about fell over.
Wood grain can be so amazing when finished properly and the colors are just warm and wonderful.
I really like bluing and nice wood. I have more than one in walnut and each has a color of its own.
That is a real pretty one.

I'm a sucker for a pretty stock or nicely worked wood on anything. Our own Ben ("Ben's Red", "Ben's Liquid Lube") is quite the artisan with a stock.

very nice indeed. i just love steel and wood guns refuse to have a plastic stock. i will admit to having one plastic pistol a kel tec p32 that i paid $137 for new just couldn't pass. but i really just love the look of that stock. and am just a bit jealous.

Wow! Very nice. I still miss Goodsteel and Larry Gibsons input. Why some fellas think they have to openly question and picker at others is beyond my learning ability. Some of these fellas with proven experience that leave does not make us any better.Forgive my babbling, Yup that as nice a wood as I believe you could get!
