I'd get it and use <90 grain Bullets and be happy for that price! I've killed a few deer with the .243/80gr PSP and always bang/ flop.

Lots of info for barrel fitting on the graybeard forum. Problem is finding barrels, even shotgun barrels for stubbing. GW

I don't like Handy Rifles but at $200 I wouldn't pass one up in any caliber. It blows my mind to see
these rifles bring the same money as a used lever gun or BA rifle. I couldn't understand with all the
interest in stubbing shotgun barrels for rifle conversions why hasn't there been more done on the old
model guns. The triggers on the older model guns are much easier to refine. Me & Bro bought Hornets in 80s and fooled with triggers until blue in face, never did get them to satisfaction.

H&R Handi Rifle in 243?

You could always get the 243 and send it off to be rebored to something interesting...

PS... I like 243‘s, just not in a Handi...that being said...$200... I’d probably buy it...

.338 federal? Oohhh...

I already shoot 6mm/284, might be an interesting rechamber! Not sure how the ejector/extractor works but could be an issue.

If you get this rifle, try 85 grain Sierra HPBT GameKings and H414 powder...Make sure the scope base is clean and loctited securely...I use two rubber o-rings under the fore end stud to free float the fore end somewhat...Barrels can be rough, mine got better after the 200 round mark...Put the front rest under the pivot pin...
