    powder ???? from repurposed shells

    any one know what kind of powder is used in the federal 20g heavy field loads & in the federal 20g 2.3/4 in 3/4 oz maximum rifed slug hp loads. as i would like to reuse the powder as well.i only have a 12g now.

    Why would you want to do this? Powder is cheap right now.

    What Hickory said! Who knows what powder the factory uses and if and when they change powders.

    Seems like a lot of work to open hulls to dump powder unless you plan to just cut them off to get the powder. I'd say not worth it even if you knew what powder you were getting but that's just me. If you aren't sure of the powder then definitely not worth the effort or risk.

    If you could find someone in your area with a 20 gage they would probably be happy to work some kind of deal out .

    nobody around me shoots 20g i had already looked into that thanks tho.
