    Ballard .40-63 Ball Seater

I purchased this from a dealer friend. Nickle plating looks to be near 90% intact. This is a straight line tool. I wasn't sure if the .40-63 would work with my RCM turned .40-63 everlasting brass, but I started a 330gr. paper-patched bullet in case mouth & inserted in seater. A gentle push seated bullet perfect. These tools are not adjustable as to bullet depth...and having seen a picture of one of these old tools in a now forgotten book...with leather washers on seating stem to limit seating depth, I plan on doing the same, as I am only seating about 1/16" deep in case mouth. The workmanship on these old tools is really something considering the tools and lighting they had to work with. Case fit in chamber is very close..there is even a 1/8" wide milling cut on bottom of seater to pry out a stuck case...very much like a modern Wilson chamber type bullet seater.
