Just because change doesn't make a difference doesn't mean that change is bad.

If you don’t need mass quantities, I’m using a .311 double cavity LEE mold, which I believe is between 0 and #1 buck. Twelve weigh 1.25 oz and fit nicely in a WAA12R wad. R+ on the mold, it casts great.

Jkrem- I do the same thing with the .311 mold, an added feature is that although it appears slow, you're NOT taking time to cut the buckshot from the sprues...........woohoo!

Now if we could just get someone to make a 6 - 8 cavity like the 2 cavity.........

    I’ll pass on the sharpshooter

Will consider a lee double cavity .311” round ball mould as long as it’s a pin and bushing style.

I sure wish Mr Plank would open his doors. I'm sure he has enough pending orders to hold him for about 20 years.

    Just food for thought.

Your welcome glocky. The 311 Rb moulds work very well for making buckshot. I just use a Lee two hole mould and that works just fine for me. Gp

That Track of the Wolf mold is a Lee 6 cavity .31 caliber ball. Essentially muzzle loader mold that makes #1 buckshot. The group buy molds will be 8 cavity available in #1, #00, #000, and I think #0000 (38 round ball) Depending I think on getting enough buyers for each of the sizes to be run. Running about $118 shipped for the mold but the maker has a solid reputation for good molds. No trimming like there is with the Lee "string of pearls" design, seems like a good investment to get one. But I was comparing $70 Lee with trimming for 18 cavities to these at no trim 8 cavity. Also I was thinking that the deep pour might be a bit tricky to get right down through three cavities six times per mold fill.

I cast for muzzle loaders and 2 cavity will work for shotgun loading, but a 6 or 8 cavity will work that much better. I know how long it takes to cast up 15# of 56 caliber RB in a 2 cavity. Would take more casts and thus longer to do it for a smaller ball.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

if you get a sharpe shooter i would recommend taking off the handle and putting a spacers between the wood and aluminum so it can get air flow it helps keep the handles from heating up so much. i also use 2 cavity molds for my buckshot the #4 sharpe shooter is the only exception it is faster but when you consider not cutting the spruce and the ones not filled out its not that much slower.
