    Uberti Goodness

Since the first of the year I've picked up two new Uberti's; A Frisco in 45 Colt and a Flat Top in 44-40 to which I fitted a .44 Special cylinder. Since acquiring both of these, I've shot lots of cast bullets through them and they've both proven to be quite accurate.

The Frisco's timing was a wee bit off with the bolt popping early, but a Wolff bolt/hammer spring cured that. I also honed the forcing cone to 11°. I've shot the snot out of this revolver with everything from loads that duplicate the original, to 285 gr. SWC's close to 1000 fps. It love's 'em all.

Then along came the Flat Top. I fitted the .44 Special "tight" leaving a small BC gap, honed the forcing cone and installed a Wolff spring. It has been such a joy to shoot and I'll probably use it this deer season.

Shot these first two this evening-

Nice pistols, and good shooting! I have a couple myself, and they shoot well.

Thanks man. I'd love to see some pics of others Uberti's. Never get tired of looking at them!

Their six shooters on the Colt SAA pattern are about my favorite guns from Uberti. The one I have from Navy Arms years ago and the one I got from Taylor & Co a couple of years ago have both had their springs replaced by the respective importers and are unbelievably smooth. They’re all I could ask for in a single action.

Great shooting! I love my Ubertis as well.

6.5 grains of Red Dot under a 255 grain Ideal/Lyman 454-190 in 45 Colt is the best shooting load out of my Uberti 8 1/2" SAA Cattleman that I have found. I remember the first shot I took at 50 yards with that load was dead center on the bulls eye. Beginner's luck! Don[t ask me if I was able to put the rest of them in the same place but I was surprised at the grouping I got out of it at 50 yards - about a six inch group (5 shots) and I was tickled pink - they are fine shooting pistols.
