email to text question

I sell stuff on craigs list sometimes.
I have them reply to the post through my yahoo email.
Lots of people text a reply these days.
I see it as a email, but I think it could be a text reply.
If I reply to their text, through my yahoo, will they get it????
I know nothing about text.
Is it just another form of email????

E-mail goes through your e-mail server - apparently Yahoo for you. Text messages go straight to the phone number, not to the e-mail server.

I have a friend who texts me thru my e-mail. I just reply thru my e-mail and he gets the message. I added him to my address book and I have had no problems.

Yes, you can email to text and vice versa. You can respond to your own ad to see the results.

Usually if you just hit Reply, they'll get the message. Check to see that there is an @ symbol in the email field before you hit send and you should be good to go.

I don't know how to text anyway.
As you can tell, I'm not to tech savvy.
To old and set in my ways.

Yup just hit reply and they will most likely get it.
I email to text and vice versa regularly at work.
