    38-55 question

I bought some reloading stuff last weekend. Have cases with 38-55 win headstamp Looking at cases most have splits in neck. So I pulled the bullets. They are fnsp .284. My book says 38-55 lead bullets are sized to .379 Any ideas what would these be? Figured out he was making 7x30 waters.

It appears you are correct about the 7-30 Waters.

Hence the split necks. Thin case necks like 30-30, .38-55, and 7-30 don't take kindly to sizing up or down very much. my experience anyway, james
