Hello,
Want to try a few different 38spl boolits for my new to me Smith 10-6.
I bet you can find a few around here what style would you like to try ?
Ha I hope so! Looking for SWC and FWC designs.
I can put together a box with 148 gr button nose wad cutters , 150 gr swc , 158 gr swc if you'd like to try some ,
That would be great! PM me your details!
Ill go down in the basement in a bit and message you , but you may want to look for some round nose to try as well .
My stocks of 38 boolits are loaded into ammo at the moment and it is too hot still for any casting. In another month or so I'll make some more 38 boolits. H&G 50, RCBS 38-150-SWC, and NOE 360432.
If you're still looking about a month from now give a shout. I'll gladly give you some to try. I can go "as cast" or powder coated and sized 358 or 359.
Your going to be shooting a fixed sighted s/w so you want to load a load that shoots to the fixed sight , you might want to ask some of the members what they have tried that shot to the point of aim . Just a thought .
I've got 158 RN out the kazoo. Have some listed on the forum.
I have some Lee 125 round flat nose I just cast. They are still warm! I have the same boolit powder coated and sized .358 also. And I think I have 148 wadcutter pc'd and sized. I will send you some to try.

My shop is still to warm for much casting, but I might have some Lee 105gr. SWC. I love them for light plinking loads and they are pretty accurate. PM me if you would like to try a few... It may take a couple of weeks to get to them and longer to cast them if I need to.
I just acquired apr 150 laser cast 38 cal 158 g RN FP .358 I'd be glad to get rid of, they are lubed, I don't shoot lubed. I would just melt them down.
I run the #358477 149grs over 3.5grs of BULLSEYE. Cast of #2, sized .358 - Lubed with 50/50.
It shoots to POA at 50ft in my 10-5 6". Very pleasant shooting. I have Ancient Mother of Pearl Magna grips with a TYLER T-grip. A very attractive looking package.
Ya wanna try a hundred ? PM me.
I HATE auto-correct
Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.
My Experience and My Opinion, are just that, Mine.

You've come to the right place !
I've been reloading for the 38 Special longer than I can remember and it's by far my favorite cartridge. Before I started casting, the bulk of my 38 Spl. bullets were SWC & HBWC types. When started casting I looked for advice on this forum and my bullet types didn't change much. I still load SWC and full wadcutters but gave up on the hollow base WC's.
I've always had at least one S&W K-frame in the safe and my current Model 10 is a 4" dash 7 which is nearly identical to your dash 6 but with a tapered barrel instead of a heavy barrel. You just cannot go wrong with a SWC in the 155-160 grain range or a WC around 150-155 grains in the Model 10.
I'm not a fan of light or heavy for caliber bullets and would recommend you stay in the 150-160 grain weight range.
In that range you have a LOT of excellent choices. The Lyman 358477 is the classic SWC design and the RCBS 38-150-SWC is a close copy. I shot the RCBS until I stepped up to a four cavity SAECO #382 which is also a great SWC design. Those are just a few of the good choices available.
If you send me a PM with an address I send you a few bullets along with their mold numbers. It may be a few days due to work and this slight weather problem we're about to experience.
Good Luck !
