I'm planning on sticking my toe in the PC pool and am wondering if it is reasonable to PC the Gould 330 grain HP .45-70 boolit and push it to the 1,600 fps range with the coating intact? I plan to use Larry Gibson's recipe of 5# WW/5# pure lead and 2% tin from 50/50 solder. The rifle is a new Marlin guide gun stainless big lever with a pristine Ballard rifling bore and it likes tumble lubed .460 boolits. If that velocity is not realistic, what is? Any experience or comments will be appreciated. GF
