    Gas checks in canada?

    Hi!

I've learn today that gas checks are now itar items and therefore cannot be shipped in canada. The only brand available up here is hornady and they're somewhat pricy... Can someone give me a cue to get some checks (aluminium or copper) at a fair price? I already have a patmarlins check maker.

Why, whats wrong? You don't like Pat Marlin's design or something?

I'm not going to use that tool if i can buy checks at a reasonable price. Using the patmarlins tool is always the b plan.

Hornady gas checks are .03 or .04 cents each. Best you can find commercially in the lower 48 is right around that price. So if you are in that ball park, break out the checkmaker and get to work. Kinda takes the edge off if you keep in mind that this is our hobby and enjoy the down time.

If it is ITAR then we could face a fine for shipping it if we are not registered. Google is your friend. I have ordered them off amazon in a pinch.

I mean you call it scrap copper or aluminum. Then say you arent responsible for how the scraps are used.

I feel your pain. Get someone to make a FreeChex style gas check maker. You will make 1000 checks before you can finish your soda pop. No frustration either.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.

Dealt with Dragon Lube a couple times and always been happy.

Even the best price for checks seems pretty steep these days.
