    1866 ejection

I have an 1866 yellowboy 38 special that doesn't seem to eject the rounds clear ( 1 or 2 inches high) leaving them to fall back into the action causing jams. Any ideas or solutions? It doesn't seem to matter how hard you work the action. - Thanks
