Opinions wanted

Anyone that has used an 1894 Marlin in 41 Magnum; and a Henry in 41 Magnum. I would like to hear the good and bad sides of each as compared to each.
I have a JM Marlin 1894FG, it is being sold for out of sight prices, which makes me think I might want to take it out of service. Only if opinions of the Henry are as good as. I've handled the Henry, it is OK; maybe better but I've never fired one.
Soliciting opinions.....pro & con...on both or either.

Not familiar shooting a 41 mag, but I really like my Henry in 45 Colt.

My opinion is that if you're not going to shoot it; sell it to someone who will. The .41 Rem Mag is a great cartridge.

I have 2 friends that have the 41 Henry and love them, I have the Henry BBS in 357 and 45 colt, they are smoother than all my Marlins put together..

Many do not care for the front end tube loading/unloading on the Henry. They are good guns and I own a couple 22 Rf, but they are heavy.

I have a Henry 41 (Baby) only gun I have ever named. I really like it. It can give you a little heartburn if you hold it on its side and work the action. I have not had any problems I can't live with. I have fed it 170 gr pfp to 265+ gr wfps or wfhp (mehi 413265) in 41 special brass and regular 41 mag brass. I only have about 150 rounds thru mine but JonB in Glenco may weigh in, he has done extensive testing with his I believe. The tube loading does not bother me it is faster then a side gate and easier on the thumb. Only beef is I can't see the sights like I did 30 years ago, they got blurry.

I have a Marlin (15 years) and the Henry. They both are accurate and function well as lever rifles.
But the Marlin is very finicky about certain bullet noses. The Marling also shoots best with Fat nosed cast due to the strange lead design Marlin chose to use. Ranch Dog made and excellent .412 diameter bullet shape that solved the issue but that is just one.
The Henry cycles well all types I have tried. Seems to be limited to 265 grainers at the high end unless you want to shorten brass a bit for longer nosed heavier cast to cycle. I do not need to go heavier than 265 gr as we have a Marlin 336 in 414 Supermag that handles up to 325 grainers with no issues. Could also be so simple just to adjust the bullet stop on the lifter to permit longer nosed cast to feed ???
So me... I would buy the Henry. Less than half the price of a Marlin. Especially the Marlin CCL Octagon Barrel 41 Mag. Last one of those I saw sell was over 2K. Maybe we should sell our's ??

I’ve had both. The Henry gets the nod for overall usability. Less finicky with OAL and cheaper to acquire right now. Wish Marlin would do another run of 41 Mag. Both were accurate. I’ve not been able to load the 265gr TrueShot clones out of mine as they did not cycle well and occasionally jammed. The 255gr WFNGC also jammed a certain percent. Otherwise everything else was GTG. Shot a doe with a 235gr WFN with 4227 a few years ago. Worked well.

Have neither in 41, but have MANY Marlins and the Henry in 327, the front loading mag tube isn't as bad as I thought it may be??, probably because I have several mag tube load 22's, the only issue I have with the Henry is apparently?, they use the same mag tube for everything?, there is GENEROUS! room for the smaller cartridges!, I haven't tried it?, but I think the 327's could be inserted upside down!??, it may not be an issue with the bigger 41 Mag?, just something to be aware of.
If I had the Marlin in 41 Mag I'd be shoot'n it right along side my Blackhawk in 41 Mag!!, the lack of, and price, of the Marlins has me seriously considering the Henry!
