Looking for a few things in Durango, Colorado

Here for the weekend with girlfriend and our dog. Recommend a good Mexican restaurant. A nice good, old gun shop. How about a country station. I know we have members here, beautiful place. Oh, and how about a good local, craft, IPA brew? I’m loving the cooler temps.

Gardenschwartz Sporting Goods was a fun place to go look at guns. Been there since like 1925 if I remember correctly.
We spent Christmas before last there and we had a blast. My boys both loved Father's Daughters Pizza.
Didn't eat any Mexican food while in Duarango so I cannot help you there.

Welcome to Co. Spend your money. Go home.

That's what I want to say to all the Californicators that come here. Too many stay.

Zia Taqueria, 3101 Main St. Heard good things about it but haven't been in Durango for a couple if years to try them. And welcome to Colorado hope you have a pleasant visit. Take the drive over hwy 550 to Silverton and Oray beware it has a high pucker factor.

I've got kin around Pueblo/Canon City/Florence area. Mrs Bookworm is from Canon City. They all say the same thing.

Pueblos was ruined long ago, and Canon City went some years later.

My nephew in Florence routinely curses Kalifornia emigres. He says, with some vehemence, that if they want to make Florence like Kommifornia they should have stayed there. I agree.

No different in Denver area, they have invaded here too. Just no reason to be unsociable to the AZ visitors asking about where to spend their money in Colorado.

Go to Glendo, WY some time and you'll find they call us greenies, want to guess why? So you see it cuts both ways. Lecture off.

Train ride is a lot of fun if you have the time. Wish I could remember the name of the pub I visited (close to the train station).

I’m going to look at the train museum and check that gun shop. We’re going to look for good restaurants for next 2 nights. GF doing an event at LPlata event center today, so it’s me and the dog. Staying at Alpen Rose campground. Narrow gauge RR runs across hwy 550. I hear activity on the scanner. So far this Arizonan has found the people very welcoming. Glad I’m not a Californian.

Yes, if you have a jeep, take Ofir pass (old road) from Silverton to Teluride. Do NOT take GF with you. Box canyon in Ouray.
    Whatever!

For decades it was because the CO license plate was green.

Ken and Sue's is a nice place for a good meal. Can't recommend any mexican places as the ones there now are not really the tasty food you would find there years ago. For some reason people want to fancy up mexican food. I stay with the hole in the wall type places.

What is that shooting place up on the hill? Looks like an indoor. Only place I've seen Kmart sell guns, powder and bullets.
    Whatever!

I’m back in Arizona. I loved Durango. The downtown area was alive and beautiful. The most beautiful thing I ever saw was Silverton. Great people, I’ll be back.
