    Lee seating die ?

Do Lee seating dies have the crimping "ring" made into there dies?
I think I've read somewhere where they don't have it. I have a older
set of C&H 7.65x53 Argentine dies that don't have a way to crimp it.
    Any info would be great.

All of my 6 lee sets have crimp built into the bullet seater.

The Lee bullet seating die for pistols will crimp if you want it to. The instructions for crimping with the seating die are as follows:

"If a crimp is desired, screw the die in slightly and test until the proper crimp is formed. Cases must be trimmed to the same length to provide a uniform crimp. Excessive crimp causes the bullet seater to deform soft nose bullets." Quoted from Lee 380 Auto pistol die instructions.

Do you still have the instruction sheet for your Lee dies? If not PM me an email address and caliber and I'll scan one and send it. If I don't have your caliber I'll get as close as I can, but all pistol dies have the same capabilities.

Yes, follow the instructions for turning in the seating die until the desired crimp is obtained.

No it's for a rifle die..7.65x54 Argentine. I know how to set up dies...
Was just wondering if they had the crimp as I had heard they didn't. I use Lee
dies all the time, but never use the crimp, but loading the Argie, I
ran into the bell would not let the round chamber, so I ordered the
LFC die so I could just kiss the the bell to close it. Was going to order
a set of Argie dies but now I don't have to. Thanks for all the feed back.

Some of my Lee rifle seating dies don't have a crimp feature included. My favorite crimp die is the Lee collet style crimp. It is available for most rifle cartridges and many pistol calibers. Gp

Older Lee dies made before the Lee rifle factory crimp dies were produced have a crimp ring in the seater. Newer dies made in the last 20 years or so do not have the crimp ring in the rifle seater.

I have about a dozen LEE die sets with NO crimp ring.
I have one LEE die set in 7X57 Mauser that does have a crimp ring.

Thanks guys and ...That's what I thought. I guess they figure you will
have to buy there FCD if you want to crimp. Smart on there part I guess.

Many of you may already know this but just a reminder. Remember to back off your lock ring when finishing a crimping session! I didn't a few times and wondered why the bullet wouldn't seat LOL (DUH)

I'm looking at the instruction sheet for Lee 3 die pistol set and it states the seating die has a crimping function , seating and crimping die , and explains how to set it up to apply a crimp.

If you set up the dies to crimp....you do not have to buy a separate Factory Crimp Die...read and follow the instruction sheet.

www.leeprecision.com. All you do is back off on seater, loosen locking ring, screw down die a lil at a time until you get correct crimp.
