    Lyman 401654 MP hollowpoint?

In this old thread we had a dozen interested in a .40 caliber hollowpoint semiwadcutter. It landed on the Lyman 401654 with inquiry to Mihec for HP option, then the buy ran out into the archives.

Any interest to restart it? Any honcho?
Shoot from a rest at 25/50/100 yards, then post your groupings. That is the only way to compare accuracy results.

    Lyman 401654 MP hollowpoint?

For those curious here is a photo is the Lyman version.

I may recommend the 10mm Oreo WFN as an alternative for some if this design doesn’t have enough interest. I picked one up last year and it’s a very nice bullet in my 40. Link to closed group buy below.

Very interested in a 145 solid/135 HP, nothing heavier as there is plenty out there in the heavier weights

Here's how I would suggest we proceed:

    1) Keep it simple. The original (now archived) post had enough support to proceed IF we keep it a simple solid nose design. Everyone loves Miha's CRAMER style hollow points. However, that would DOUBLE the number of molds we need to move this discussion into the Active phase. By keeping it a simple solid nose SWC, we can get these molds made faster. One of the reasons it died was the HP option that everyone wanted. My job is to help get you all what you want. If HP is an absolute must-have, so be it. Just be aware that not as many are going to be willing to wait the very long time that this one would take as a HP.
    2) If anyone can provide me with a drawing (we have lots of images from the previous Lee and Lyman discussions), I can present that to Miha, and get him interested. I could, if we need to get one of the other honchos to produce a drawing for me, but I need all of the "locked in details". That is, we need to be specific. Shape, weight, etc... All locked in. There was enough discussion on this to have me think we know what the final boolit will look like.
    3) Miha needs 20 molds committed for in the Active phase (as a solid nose!), so 10 or 11 will get a new Discussion thread (I'll start a new thread as soon as I have #2, above in my hands.) moved to Active.

Let's keep this a solid nose, SWC style mold (no pins). Please, someone send me a PM with a drawing, and confirmation that you'd like me to begin. I'll create a new Discussion thread. At that time, it would be worthwhile for the OP (original poster - Whistler) to CLOSE this thread. I'll refer to it, and the archived thread in my new discussion thread.

    Everyone on board with that?

PS: If you all must have a HP option, so be it. I'll do what you want.

I'd love a solid only version of that Oreo mold
