    Ammo amamos

I just thought I would report that I just saw an ad for a local retailer for Federal Field and Range 22LR...
    $19.99 for 525 rounds.
That is less than 3.9 cents per round.
I recall not to long ago when many folks here derided me for predicting 22LR for less than $.05 per round.
"You will never see it for under $.10 per round" they howled.
That store also has Brass 9MM for $8.89 a box of 50.
Let me say this ...nya nya nya nya nya. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.
    There, Now I feel better.

I was just in my local WallyWorld and noticed they had Federal bricks (550, I believe) for 19.99.
I was tempted but I still have most of my stash from 9.99 era.

As long as they aren't Thunder Duds! Me, I prefer CCI ammo esp. Stingers but for plinking I'll shoot anything but Thunder bolts.

I'll admit, never figured they would go as low as they have.

Recently picked up 5 boxes of 325 Federal auto at 4.3 cents each with free shipping.
    Hard to beat.

I've been buying them on sale for 4 cents a round lately at both my local WallyWorld and LGS. I am stocking up because starting next year, severe and oppressive regulations governing the acquisition of ammunition go into effect, thanks to a pair of San Francisco Scoundrels. Fortunately, I will be retiring and moving back to the United States.

I hope you are wrong about the severe oppressive regulation going into effect next year.

It's already in effect as of July 1st and gets even more oppressive next July.

He is talking about here in the Peoples Republic of Komiefornia. They passed a law restricting ammo purchases. When the law is fully in effect a background check will be required to get ammo. Now all purchases need to go through your LGS. No direct shipping. No person to person selling.

After Walmart stopped selling the Winchester Dynapoints Bulk .22LR, their price was never quite as low ever again.
It seems that even .05 per round is almost double the old Walmart price for them.

I just saw an endcap display at a local store, less than $19/brick. Was amused me was the quantity. I did a quick calculation of the number of bricks in front of me and it came to close to 300,000 rounds!

I like the Federal ammo. The Auto Match and the red and black box stuff is good. My old standby was CCI Blazer, but after the 2012 nonsense with ammo I never got anymore of it. I stopped buying it at 20 bucks a brick. I certainly wasn't paying 70 bucks the local shop was asking for it during the nutiness.

Does anyone have a clue what it cost to produce plinking 22lr ammo? It has come down to about 4 cents per round now. I would like to stock up for retirement.
